Expose the risks before someone else does.

Any organisation with an internet presence or IoT integration is a target for malicious actors. Penetration testing finds the exploitable weaknesses in your digital environment before an attacker does. It is an essential layer in a modern cybersecurity strategy, whatever the size of your business.

Why test regularly

No organisation is immune. Regular Penetration testing finds vulnerabilities in your environment so you can mitigate threats before they occur, and keeps you aligned with standards including Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and others.

  • USD 4.44m — the global average cost of a data breach in 2025.
  • 241 days — the average time to identify and contain a breach.
  • Most breached organisations took more than 100 days to recover.

What Symtest gives you

Symtest is our full-scale network penetration testing service. It identifies emerging threats on an ongoing basis: test at any time and frequency, with real-time reports, preliminary findings, and notifications as issues surface. Every engagement runs with no disruption to your day-to-day operations.

A test typically takes five to ten business days depending on the size of your network and the type of test, with reports and deliverables ready two to four days after. We recommend testing at least every six to twelve months, and after any major change such as system upgrades or new applications.

Ask us!

We are always available to have a conversation. Or check out these links for more info:

How long does a Penetration Test take?
Depending on network size and type of test, it takes 5-10 business days to run a penetration test. Reports and deliverables are ready within 2-4 days after scans have been completed.
How often should we perform a Pen test?
Each business is different, but it is recommended to conduct a Penetration test at least once every 6 to 12 months or after major changes to your IT infrastructure, such as system upgrades or new applications.
Do you perform Vulnerability Scans too?
Yes we do! A vulnerability scan automatically checks systems for known weaknesses and produces a list of potential issues, while a penetration test has skilled testers actively exploit those weaknesses to show what a real attacker could actually achieve. — Frequently asked

Questions from clients

Do we need penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or both?

They answer different questions. Vulnerability scanning runs continuously and tells you what known weaknesses exist across your attack surface. Penetration testing (Symtest) is a point-in-time, goal-driven test that proves whether those weaknesses are genuinely exploitable, including flaws a scanner can’t find, and how far an attacker could get. Most security-conscious businesses run scanning as the always-on baseline and add Symtest on a regular cadence, or ahead of an audit, funding round, or major change.

What is penetration testing, and how often should we do it?

Penetration testing is an authorised, simulated attack on your systems that finds exploitable weaknesses before a real attacker does. For most Australian SMBs the right baseline is recurring vulnerability scanning across your external surface and key internal hosts, backed by a structured penetration test at least every six to twelve months and after any major change to your environment. Symsafe delivers both: continuous scanning and triage, plus regular penetration testing through Symtest, our dedicated pen-testing service.

How long does a penetration test take?

Depending on the size of your network and the type of test, a penetration test takes five to ten business days to run. Reports and deliverables are ready within two to four days after testing is complete.

Will we experience downtime during testing?

No. Symtest runs with no disruption to your day-to-day business operations during testing.
